UPDATE on March 20, 2020:

Our SD51 GOP BPOU Convention will no longer take place on March 21st as was originally scheduled, and has been postponed. It has been re-scheduled to Wednesday, April 8th at 7pm, and will take place online instead of in-person. We will be contacting our delegates and alternates with details.

On Thursday, March 12th, the Republican Party of Minnesota Executive Committee voted to delay all BPOU and Congressional District conventions. The Republican Party of Minnesota has taken this action to protect the health and safety of all of our delegates, alternates, guests, and observers amid ongoing concerns about the coronavirus.

The CD2 convention, originally scheduled for Saturday, April 18th, is also postponed. We will be in touch once events are rescheduled.

Original Post:

Save the date! The Senate District 51 Republicans will be holding our convention on Saturday, March 21st! Delegates and alternates who were elected at the 2020 caucuses are eligible to participate. The convention will be held at Black Hawk Middle School (1540 Deerwood Drive in Eagan). Registration will start at 8:30am, and the convention will be called to order at 9:00am. Registration will close at 9:30am, so you must arrive before that time to be seated. The registration fee is $20 (guests who are under 18 are free). Nobody will be denied their seat due to an inability to pay the registration fee. The business of the convention will include:

  • Endorsement for State House of Representatives
  • Election of delegates and alternates to the State and CD2 GOP Conventions
  • Approving precinct caucus resolutions
  • Transact such other business as may properly come before the convention

The proposed rules and proposed platform resolutions are now available for download.

We will send an official call separately.
